Join ArtTable DC for an informal conversation with Lise Dubé-Scherr, newly appointed President and CEO of International Arts & Artists.
With over 27 years of experience in Canadian and American art and historic house museums, in January 2019 Lise Dubé-Scherr was appointed President and CEO of International Arts & Artists, a Washington, DC based non-profit organization dedicated to increasing cross-cultural understanding and exposure to the arts internationally through exhibitions, programs, and services to artists, arts institutions, and the public.
As the former Director of Museum Affairs at The Preservation Society of Newport County, Lise was responsible for the museum division including curatorial, exhibitions, conservation, collections, interpretation, and education at its eleven historic properties. From 2011-2017, Lise served as the Executive Director of The Richard H. Driehaus Museum, a decorative arts museum housed in a fully restored Gilded Age mansion in Chicago, IL. Lise leverages her extensive experience in audience development to create visitor-centered exhibitions and programs to foster increased visitor engagement and attendance. At both the Driehaus Museum and the Preservation Society, she developed and advanced ambitious new exhibition programs in unconventional settings to diversify and expand traditional historic house museum offerings.
A native of Canada, Lise has held positions at Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal, the National Gallery of Canada, the Allentown Art Museum, and The Mount, Edith Wharton’s Estate & Gardens. She holds a BA in Art History from the University of Calgary and a MA in Art Education from Concordia University in Montreal.
