Autumn at Glenstone / Roni Horn
At Glenstone members interacted with large scale art. Above, from left, member Cathryn Keller, Phil Kopper, and DC Chapter Co-chair Ruth Abrahams experience Sylvester by Richard Serra (2001).
On Sunday, November 12th, ArtTable DC members escaped the city to visit the contemporary art experience that is Glenstone in Potomac, M.D. AT’s group toured the outdoor sculptural landscape, which included an auditory experience in the woods via Forest (for a thousand years…) by Janet Cardiff and George Bures Miller (2012), and the ever-changing Andy Goldsworthy Clay Houses (2007-2008). As members took in Roni Horn’s solo exhibition, they discussed multi-media artists and challenges to the concept of traditional art. ArtTable hopes to re-visit Glenstone once their expansion is complete.
